Material & 3D Printing
Notes on 3D Printing
Our products are manufactured using the FDM 3D printing process. This involves heating a plastic filament and building it up precisely layer by layer. This allows for stable components, a very good fit, and efficient "on demand" production.
What you should know about the appearance
- Due to the layer-by-layer construction, fine lines (layer lines) may be visible upon close inspection – especially in grazing light. This is not a defect, but typical for FDM printing.
- Each part is an independent print. Therefore, there may be minimal, purely visual differences between individual batches.
Accuracy of Fit & Tolerances
To ensure components fit cleanly, designs are implemented with defined tolerances. In rare cases, very small deviations may occur depending on the installation situation (e.g., manufacturing tolerances on the vehicle or trim parts). If something doesn't fit as expected, our support team is here to help quickly.
Quality Standards
We value high surface quality and check our prints before shipping. Function, surface quality, and suitability for everyday use are equally prioritized.
Workmanship & Surface
Our prints achieve a high surface quality. Due to the 3D printing technique, a fine structure may be visible, which is normal for FDM prints. Products are inspected before shipping to ensure you receive a cleanly finished part.
Material
Depending on the area of use, we use ASA or PETG for printed products. Both materials are suitable for high-quality 3D printed parts and are selected by us to match the application.
ASA – for higher temperature requirements
ASA is particularly suitable when more temperature stability is required. This is especially useful where parts in the vehicle may be exposed to higher temperatures.
PETG – robust and versatile
PETG is a very proven plastic for durable components. It is versatile and offers a good combination of stability and everyday practicality.
UV Stability
All our prints are UV-stable – regardless of whether ASA or PETG is used. This means: The parts are designed for use in light/sunlight exposure.
